Dennis King
Executive Director

Dennis King was a member and volunteer of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce before he joined the staff in 1998.  Among other staff duties, King managed BRIDGE Business and Technology Expo, MarketPlace, three wedding fairs, and co-founded the Chamber's ambassador program and the business leads groups.  Since becoming the chamber’s executive director in 2003, King has successfully managed more than ten performance contracts with the City of San Jose. 

For the past five years, King has managed Silicon Valley’s largest small business gatherings and expos, comprised of the active members of nearly every ethnic and city chamber of commerce and business association in the valley and beyond.
Dennis King has worked in sales, marketing and communications for a number of startup companies in Silicon Valley. He has been a business consultant on behalf of the City of San Jose in aiding small and startup firms develop marketing plans, address various management issues, and seek appropriate financing. King was a general contractor and president of an energy conservation services company for more than six years.

King is a former publisher of a local regional magazine, a former marketing director and high tech editor of another local magazine, and contributing writer to other publications.

Long active in local affairs, King had served as the Chair, International Committee of the San Jose Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce for four years where he Co-Chaired Silicon Valley's NAFTA committee, organized and/or presided over the GATT committee, Festiv’All, Pacific Rim Dinner, and a variety of seminars, workshops and conferences. King hosted incoming delegations from more than twenty-five nations and sent trade missions abroad.

King has served as President, Pacific Neighbors, Inc. (Sister Cites San Jose) for more than ten years. He is a member of the Advisory Committee, International House, San Jose State University, Advisory Committee of the San Jose Jobs Corps, the Industry Advisory Committee of the Center for Education and Training (CET).  He is a member of many other associations, including  founding board member of San Jose’s BusinessOwnerSpace.

King has been an officer of several marketing, advertising and professional associations over the years, including past president of the Peninsula Marketing Association and the Peninsula Advertising Club. He had been active in U.S. politics on local, state and national levels. He is a former administrative aide to then Santa Clara County Supervisor Dan McCorquodale.
Dennis King was educated at San Jose State University and Foothill College where he was student body president at both campuses.

Currently, Dennis King is the state parliamentarian and board member of the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce.

Dennis is the Executive Director of the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Silicon Valley, the chair of the Chambers of Commerce Coalition of Santa Clara County, board member of the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce and a member of numerous other association boards and advisory committees.


Emma Gonzalez
Associate Director

SBDC-Hispanic Satellite

Emma Gonzalez joined the SBDC-Hispanic Satellite/HCCSV in April of 2012. Her professional background consists of over 30 years of financial services experiences. Her areas of expertise are in financial education, lending, budgeting as well as in management and customer service training. As the Associate Director of the SBDC-Hispanic Satellite her responsibilities include Advisor/Client services management, financial tracking and reporting and she also provides one on one counseling to clients. Emma is currently attending Heald College.

Esmeralda Carretero
SBDC-Hispanic Satellite

Esmeralda Carretero joined the SBDC-Hispanic Satellite/HCCSV in August 2012. Her professional background encompasses several areas including retail, construction, tax preparation and home insurance sales. Her most recent experience has been working with the non-profit organization, AnewAmerica, which specializes in economic development for immigrants and micro enterprises. Esmeralda is passionate about the Hispanic community; she prides herself on her ability to serve her clients in both English and Spanish. Esmeralda is currently attending San Jose City College and is looking forward to transferring to a CSU in the Fall of 2013. She is a certified SBDC business advisor and a NxLevel certified trainer.
